Domination by South Zone has never been good for the India side. Batsmen from Tamil Nadu have been modest performers so far. Krishnamachari Srikanth and Wookeri Raman won’t make anybody’s first XI.

Even so, it is true that Tamil Nadu has been producing plenty of talent recently. Murali Vijay is talented, as is Dinesh Karthik. I hope Badrinath is too. If i wanted to be mischievious i might have said it had something to do with the fact that Srikanth is chairman of selectors :)

I guess my point is, that i fair to see how a south zone dominated batting line up places more pressure on Tendulkar? Are you saying that batsmen from the south zone can’t play? If so, please leave VVS and Rahul Dravid out of your “south zone” :) Cos they can play!

In recent tours we’ve had Munaf Patel, Pankaj Singh, Praveen Kumar, Dhawal Kulkarni, Sudeep Thyagi, et al come in and be with the team. Now it is Mithun’s chance to know that he is there are thereabouts. Makes sense?

Like you, I would have liked to see Raina or Kohli in the team. What irks me more is that neither Kohli nor Raina are in the BP XI either. The BP XI team is:
