I dont feel that indian cricket team is a team of "swamys" by any means. And this tour is not an indication of how dominant india is becoming OR how weak australia is becoming.

Even the 'champion' australia side (if u want to see the previous sides like that) had only won the one series in 2004 since 1985 ! An india tour is always going to be difficult for an australian side due to their techiniques. Having said that the current indian team is the strongest in a decade..and as strong as it is going to get if we foreshadow the retirement of dravid, tendulkar, ganguly, kumble. laxman. And the current australian side is a very new side following retirements of mcgrath, warne, gilchrist, langer, martyn, gillespie and the retirement of john bucchannan - the cricket coach with the best statistics in history.

Just hang on to ur horses.

I dont see any comments on this page as to praise clarke's batting, haydens lack of luck due to umpiring decisions (P.S. the swamy indians appealed when he didnt hit the ball ?????), Katich playing well ect.

Instead we see that tendulkar is 1000000 times better than bradman...mishra makes warne look like a part timer, dhoni is some sort of super captain ect

I rest my case

By the way, you say "critisise the aussies at every opportunity provided". The point is that the Aussies have provided more opportunities! Look at it that way.

Mohan, you really had me going there!! Your first paragraph was so entirely bloated with superfluous adjectives that I was a click away from dismissing the page in disgust. Luckily, I read on to discover your ploy!

Yes, that Conn character really is odious. The pity of it is that his tripe is so readily swallowed by the Australian man-on-the-street, so many of whom are already of his biased inclination anyway. Living here in Australia, I encounter several Conns in the course of a normal day - cultural stereotyping is an extremely deep-rooted thing.
The Aussie who sledges is only “competitive” – it’s all OK because he’ll offer to shake your hand and have a drink at the end of the day. Wow - I feel much better knowing that. The Indian, who cannot fathom this Jekyll-Hyde brand of hypocrisy, is “sensitive” and “thin-skinned” and, in the case of Sachin, a bad sport, as labelled by St. Gilchrist, whose beatification is surely imminent.
The Aussie who indulges in a bit of physical contact is always "provoked" (Dennis Lillee only kicked Miandad because he was a “constantly irritating” character) while the Indians (Asians) are invariably “serial offenders”.

And let us not forget to trot out that well-worn statistic – India are the “worst-behaved” team in world cricket – going, of course, by the number of disciplinary citations handed out by a “world” cricketing body that is still so Anglo-centric that it’s scary. (Full marks to Gavaskar for being the only one with enough guts to publicly make that observation).

I could rant for a few pages more but I’ll stop there…..

Gambhir's horoscope predictions by Ganesha in today's Times of India

Few excerpts for light enjoyment only

Not to be passed on to Chris Broad or malcolm Conn or Peter Lalor as character evidence

Son in Virgo
--being overtly critical, pessimistic, petty, fussy, inhibited, complaining, nagging, hypocrisy, diffidence, nitpicking are some of your drawbacks!!

sun in 1st house
--you tend to dominate others ( Aussie bowlers?) with your imagination--can be haughty--impatient--egoistic( no, very unlikely!!)

Moon in Aries
--your volatile temper makes you regret often, Ganesha notes that you could isolate yourself from people by your reckless bouts of anger( give him a break--has only played a handful of tests!!)

Mercury in Libra
--you could be argumentative

Saturn in 1st house
--you could be drawn to foreign customs (Aussie type sledging and elbowing ???)

Rahu in Cancer
-you should what you feel is right--don't care what others think ( I see G Kirsten and Mohankaus frowning!!!)

Rahu in 11th house
--you tend to encounter financial gains in alien land ( first to be signed by the Sydney franchise owned by Russel Crowe in next year's Twenty 20 Australian competition???)
