Given Sehwag's initial backfoot movement towards square leg to make room for his uppish cut shot, he gets cramped up for a rising ball on the middle and leg stump. This is well known weakness that McGrath used to exploit. The problem is that wickets in India are not quick or bouncy enough for the fast bowlers. So, Sehwag will flourish in Indian or Pak wickets.

Sehwag can not pull or hook the bouncer also.

There is a nice article in Cricinfo - Does footwork or technique matter anymore ?

Dhiraj Parsana , the curator at Ahmedabad says that the pitch will be sporting and will even have grass on the surface!!! If this does happen to be true, I wonder if Smith, in the event of winning the toss will opt to have a go at the Indian batsmen. If India go in with 3 spinners, assuming that Kumble is fit, almost certainly, India will opt to bat first.

Several teams have tried bowling short, close to the body at Sehwag, albeit unsuccessfully. He did not do too well against South Africa when India visited South Africa in 2007 - so it remains to be seen how things work out.

Seems like an interesting test and wonder how the South Africans cope with the dry heat of Ahmedabad?
