Why was Munaf Patel, a poor fielder, not a McGrath like bowler , and not fully fit, selected ?

Vengayasarkar should be held responsible for such selections.

He is no McGrath as a bowler. He should be dropped for the next one-day.

Monty Panesar worked on his fielding and he is decent now. Why is our Junta not even making an effort to become “decent” fielders.

Ganguly is untouchable, so India has to bite the bullet for his fielding lapses. Siddharth Vaidhyanthan had a scathing article on CricInfo about Indian fielding and had mentioned about Ganguly and Karthik.

“He’s supposed to be one of the better in-fielders but when the umpire calls ‘play’ he seems to think he’s part of a drama troupe. He’s a fine actor, sliding unnecessarily and acting as if he’s the most energetic man out there, but he can’t stop what he should and tries to cut off what he really can’t”
