Srinath has made some very interesting comments and provided, what I think to be, valuable advice to the bowlers, in this article. His comments on Zaheer Khan are especially very interesting. I also tend to agree with his views on the two types of captaincy, a bowling captain seems to be a more practical option.

I had the pleasure of watching Zaheer play for worcestershire last year. Unfortunately, Zaheer has not had the luxury of bowling on too many seam-friendly tracks in his career, and it was a joy to see him get just a touch of assistance from the wicket and exploit it fully. To be perfectly honest with you, he bowled with the same technique he has been using for years. His county stint proved that if Indian seamers are given helpful seaming conditions, they can be just as effective as other seamers, if not more so.
I’m looking forward to seeing Zak bowl in the England series

If I’m not wrong, Zaheer played 16 FC matches for Worcestershire last year. In India, any team hardly gets the opportunity to play 7-8 matches.
So a change in the domestic set-up is also necessary along with pitches and fitness standards etc.
