- Zee TV have announced that they are starting a league of their own called the Indian Cricket League (ICL). This will run in parallel to BCCI’s own tournaments. They are initially planning on having 6 teams with 2 Indian internationals, 4 overseas players and 8 juniors in each team. Quite a while ago, we had suggested a similar format. Has Zee been reading our blogs?
- BCCI will face a tough challenge on April 6 and 7. The rift between coach/player has now come out in the open with Tendulkar speaking out. His view is shared by other senior players as well. S.Dinakar in the Hindu thinks that Greg Chappell should be persisted with, while Kris Srikkanth feels that Chappell’s divide and rule policy has cost the team dearly.
- Younis has agreed to take over the Pakistani captaincy, but on his terms.
- After “Hattrick“, “Say Salaam India” and “Meerabhai not out“, another Cricket themed film is set to be released. This time in Tamil with the title – Chennai 600028. Hey, that’s the post code I grew up in..
- Various domestic Twenty20 tournaments are underway in India at the moment – in Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, New Delhi and Calcutta
- Former Indian cricketer Rajesh Chauhan has been injured in a road accident.

Although Ganguly has scored runs since his return to the one-day team, there is a belief that, on occasion, he may have been batting more to retain his place in the team than in the best interests of what the situation demanded. The reports that Chappell and Sanjay Jagdale, the team manager in the Caribbean, present are likely to point to instances where, for example, instructions sent out to Ganguly asking him to accelerate were ignored.
